Nearly 200 delegates from all parts of Britain made the journey to Sheffield for this year’s Cinema for All conference, and enjoyed two days of discussion sessions and masterclasses as well as chance to see some newly available film releases.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the Film Society of the Year Awards ceremony. As ever, the event demonstrated the exciting variety in the programmes and inventiveness of community cinemas in Britain. This year’s winner of the coveted Engholm Prize for Film Society of the Year was Deptford Cinema from South East London. You can see the full list of all the winners here.
Unusually, there were no SW Group members among the winners! – something we hope will be put right for the 50th FSoY Awards in 2019….
